With the changing landscape caused by COVID-19 (coronavirus), the Independence Blue Cross Foundation remains committed to its mission of leading solutions to improve the health and well-being of our neighbors in Southeastern Pennsylvania.  The Foundation staff is working remotely and will maintain updates to the Foundation’s website with related grant activity in the coming weeks. Please see the following to help nonprofit organizations find resources and information about COVID-19.

PHL COVID19 Fund – a regional response to aid nonprofits

A regional response fund has been created for health and human service nonprofit agencies that serve the 11-county region of Southeastern PA and Southern NJ. PHL COVID19 Fund is co-directed by The Philadelphia Foundation and United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern NJ, and supported by community partners and contributors, including Independence Blue Cross.  For more information and the form to apply, please visit: PHLCOVID19Fund.org.

CARES Act – Help for nonprofits

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act allocated $350 billion to help small businesses and nonprofits keep workers employed amid the pandemic and economic downturn. Known as the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), the initiative provides 100% federally guaranteed loans to eligible organizations. Importantly, these loans may be forgiven if borrowers maintain their payrolls during the crisis or restore their payrolls afterward.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation has prepared an Emergency Loan Guide to assist nonprofits and small businesses.

COVID-19 Telehealth Program – funding for eligible providers

As part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, the COVID-19 Telehealth Program will provide $200 million in funding to help nonprofit and public eligible health care providers deliver care services to patients at their homes or mobile locations.

The Program will provide immediate support to fully fund telecommunications services, information services, and devices necessary to provide critical connected care services. For more information and the form to apply, please visit: FCC.Gov/COVID-19-Telehealth-Program
