Philadelphia, PA — December 1, 2020 — The Independence Blue Cross Foundation (Foundation) announced that it will award new funding to Caron Treatment Centers (Caron) for scholarships aimed to help Black families access world-class substance use disorder treatment at Caron. These grants are one of several enhancements and funding from the Foundation’s Supporting Treatment and Overdose Prevention (S.T.O.P.) initiative to help people struggling with opioid use disorder in southeastern Pennsylvania....

Independence Blue Cross Foundation continues nurse internship program with remote learning opportunities

Despite the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic, the Independence Blue Cross Foundation (Foundation) will continue its decade-long tradition of paid nursing internships. On June 16, the Foundation welcomed its largest cohort of 30 students — representing 10 nursing programs — to the Nursing Internship Program.
Over eight weeks, the student nurses will learn about the unique role nurses play outside the hospital in health care administration at Independence Blue Cross and in regional health centers in underserved communities....
