Independence Blue Cross Foundation President Lorina Marshall-Blake spoke to members of the Pyramid Club on February 16. Marshall-Blake honored the contributions and legacies of African Americans and spoke about her personal experiences and career as a Black woman leader in Philadelphia.

On February 24, Marshall-Blake was the featured guest speaker at Harcum College’s Power of Possibilities Scholarship Recognition brunch. Founded in February 2020, this event gives student scholarship recipients the opportunity to meet, thank, and get to know donors, program directors, trustees, and cabinet members.

The Foundation supports Harcum College nursing students through the Nurses for Tomorrow grant program. In 2023, two Harcum students will receive new funding from an expansion to the Foundation’s Healthcare Scholars program, which helps create a direct pathway to nursing from high school to college for students of color.
