Children enjoy a free Community Day at the Please Touch Museum.
The Independence Blue Cross Foundation supported the Please Touch Museum’s second annual Ready-Set-School program which provided free admission for nearly 7,000 visitors to the Museum during three Sundays this summer. These special Community Days offered themed programming designed to support children and families and strengthen their physical and emotional readiness for a successful transition to school in the fall.
Programming included:
- School’s Out! which offered families game-based activities to center on skills that children and families can build upon together over the summer.
- Fueling Your Mind & Body Day which addressed mental and physical health, food access and nutrition for children.
- Ready To Learn Day which focused on building social-emotional skills that are critical to success in learning.
The Foundation also supported the Philadelphia School District’s third annual Back-to-School Bus Tour which featured two specially-wrapped school buses that traveled across Philadelphia to make resources and services accessible for students and families.
