The IBC Foundation and its president Dr. Lorina Marshall-Blake were recently honored by two local higher education institutions for support of nursing education and access to equitable care.
Manor College honored Marshall-Blake and the Foundation during a virtual gala held on November 10. Through a Blue Safety Net Grant, Manor College’s Dental Health Center helps to increase access to affordable dental care for Montgomery and Philadelphia County residents. Blue Safety Net grants help improve access to care by strengthening the health care safety net in underserved communities.
West Chester University (WCU) also honored the Foundation on October 27 with the President’s Circle Award which recognized the Foundation for its ongoing support of WCU’s Nursing Program in the College of Health Sciences. To date, the Foundation has awarded more than $14 million in Nurses for Tomorrow® grants to 26 nursing schools which provided scholarships to more than 4,600 nursing students.
