The Independence Blue Cross (IBX) Foundation, along with the AmeriHealth Caritas Foundation and Jefferson Health, has provided funding to help maintain emergency medical services (EMS) in Delaware County after the recent closure of Crozer Health system. The funding will support EMS services for approximately three months while a more permanent arrangement is made.

“At the Independence Blue Cross Foundation, we are deeply committed to expanding access to care, strengthening the healthcare workforce, and solutions for better community health,” said Heather Major, executive director of the IBX Foundation. “Funding to support Emergency Medical Services in Delaware County is addressing an urgent need and ensuring that residents continue to have access to life-saving care.
