The Independence Blue Cross (IBX) Foundation is supporting two initiatives that bring resources and programming to Philadelphia families to strengthen children’s physical and emotional readiness for the upcoming school year.
For the fourth consecutive year, the Foundation is supporting the Philadelphia School District’s annual Back-to-School Celebration and Bus Tour, which will make seven stops across the city, providing school supplies, state-mandated immunizations, and school registration materials. The events also feature food trucks, ice cream, and interactive, educational activities for children. The Tour kicked off on July 29 at the School of the Future and runs through August 17. The IBX Foundation is also supporting the Please Touch Museum’s third annual Ready-Set-School program, which provides free museum admission to families during Community Days three Sundays this summer. The programming infuses activities and performers that explore creativity, compassion, confidence, and curiosity to build academic, physical, and social emotional skills essential to school readiness. Nearly 17,000 children visited the museum in 2022 and 2023 during Community Days.
